Set in the largest conservation area in Africa, Sossusvlei is possibly Namibia\u2019s most spectacular attraction. Characterized by its large red dunes and surrounded by clay pans, Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan that sparkles brilliantly in the morning or evening light. The Namib is one of the oldest and largest deserts, stretching inland from the Atlantic Ocean and covering large swathes of Namibia, Angola and South Africa. Surprisingly, this arid hotspot supports a diverse number of plants and animals, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. Skeleton Coast National Park, in Namibia\u2019s northwest, offers breathtaking scenery and exceptional fishing opportunities. The fog-shrouded beaches of this sprawling wilderness area are littered with shipwrecks and whale skeletons. The Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) is a narrow slice of land in northeastern Namibia that borders Botswana,Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola.
