Namibia
The vivid landscapes of this sparsely populated country range from the wildlife watering holes in Etosha; to iconic desert dunes around Sossusvlei; the haunting Skeleton Coast; and the rugged north-west, home of the nomadic Himba tribe.
It boasts one of the lowest population densities on the globe and the landscape is vast and diverse. Namibia is unique, astonishingly beautiful and is ideal as a self-drive destination. Untouched and untamed, Namibia is to be marveled.
Highlights
Etosha National Park
The vivid landscapes of this sparsely populated country range from the wildlife watering holes in Etosha; to iconic desert dunes around Sossusvlei; the haunting Skeleton Coast; and the rugged north-west, home of the nomadic Himba tribe.
Set in the largest conservation area in Africa, Sossusvlei is possibly Namibia’s most spectacular attraction. Characterized by its large red dunes and surrounded by clay pans, Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan that sparkles brilliantly in the morning or evening light. Despite harsh desert conditions that make survival difficult for many plants and animals, one can find a large variety of them living around this area.
Sossusvlei
Namib Desert
The Namib is one of the oldest and largest deserts, stretching inland from the Atlantic Ocean and covering large swathes of Namibia, Angola and South Africa. Surprisingly, this arid hotspot supports a diverse number of plants and animals, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. The world’s oldest desert is home to the Wild Horses, these animals have survived more than 100 years without human intervention.
Skeleton Coast National Park, in Namibia’s northwest, offers breathtaking scenery and exceptional fishing opportunities. The fog-shrouded beaches of this sprawling wilderness area are littered with shipwrecks and whale skeletons. In the park’s south, gravel roads lead from the entrance gates to the Torra Bay and Terrace Bay outposts.

Zambezi Region
The Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) is a narrow slice of land in northeastern Namibia that borders Botswana,Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola. Wild and a stark contrast to the rest of Namibia, seemingly more like Botswana’s Okavango Delta, it is a mini delta of wetlands, rivers, forests and home to the biggest herds of elephant and buffalo in Namibia.
